Entre los diversos reconocimientos concedidos a Santa Rosa, figuran ASCAP Latin Heritage Award en el 2002, el GRAMMY ® Latino en seis ocasiones y un GRAMMY ® anglosajón en el 2007 para un total de siete estatuillas; incluido el Premio a la Excelencia por una impecable y fructífera carrera. Actualmente, en el año 2022, El Caballero de la Salsa, ha visitado ya más de 40 ciudades con su exitosa gira “Camínalo Tour”, llenando a capacidad importantes escenarios en Chile, Colombia, Panamá, Estados Unidos, entre muchos otros países del mundo. El año 2020 estuvo lleno de retos y oportunidades que llevaron a Gilberto Santa Rosa a realizar una colaboración virtual con la Orquesta Sinfónica de Caldas, Colombia grabando el tema “Canta Mundo”, tres destacados conciertos para las redes sociales y el lanzamiento del disco Colegas, producción que le tomó más de siete años y destacada como una joya por los conocedores del género salsero. En Puerto Rico, Santa Rosa realizó en febrero uno de los conciertos más importantes de su gira con un sinnúmero de amigos y mentores que formaron parte de su historia musical; este espectáculo fue grabado y presentado en exclusiva por HBO Latino. El 2016 fue un año de grandes presentaciones entre las que figuraron una extensa gira que lo llevó por más de 25 ciudades de los Estados Unidos, un ansiado y exitoso concierto en Teatro Metropólitan de la Ciudad de México y el regreso histórico, luego de 21 años, al emblemático Carnegie Hall en Nueva York para rememorar el concierto que catapultó su carrera internacional. También, fue galardonado con un GUINESS WORLD RECORD como el artista tropical con más producciones discográficas que han alcanzado la posición número uno en Billboard. Durante el 2015 Gilberto lanzó su reciente producción discográfico, Necesito un Bolero, en Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico. El proyecto, primero para Sony México, compuesto por 14 temas entre los que figuran 4 potentes duetos con luminarias de la música: Marco Antonio Solís, Eugenia León, Natalia Lafourcade y Lena. Esta producción discográfica le brindó su mas reciente nominación al GRAMMY ® Latino, primera en la categoría pop, que lo hizo merecedor del GRAMMY ® Latino como Mejor Álbum Pop Tradicional.
